About the performance
Terrafolk will perform 2 songs influenced by English (and Gaelic!) speaking areas of the world. The original compositions by Terrafolk’s Danijel Černe/Mystica will be performed at the beginning and end of the BBC World Music Awards announcement ceremony.
Composition 1: Irish Folk from Slovene Karst
The composition “Liver Dance” is inspired by Irish Folk and wind from the Karst region of Southern Slovenia. After an electronic and orchestrated version it will be performed “primitively” as a trio.

Composition 2: Exotic singer & British Pop
From the other side of the world, all the way from the exotic city of Melbourne in Australia, comes Terrafolk guest-singer Kate Hosking. Out of the huge range of musical styles from our planet Terrafolk decided to choose British Pop as the main World Music influence for the second song. This is the style of music which has had the biggest success of all World Music styles. British Pop was influenced by “World Music” long before the word “World Music” existed.
The story of Terrafolk is drawing closer and closer to its trademark – no identification, no expectations, respect and love for the audience, one music... moving from being a live, party or theatre band to recording in the studio with plenty of orchestral work. Their style of music is “Eno Music” (“One Music” in Slovene).
